The Division of Administrative Law (DAL) conducts administrative hearings when citizens file appeals regarding agency determinations. Some of the programs DAL conducts administrative hearings for include:
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP):
Provides monthly benefits that help low-income households buy the food they need for good health.
Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP):
Provides assistance to families to help pay for the child care needed in order to work, or attend school or training.
Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program (FITAP):
Provides temporary cash assistance to eligible low-income families who need assistance for children.
Kinship Care Subsidy Program (KCSP):
Provides case assistance for eligible children who reside with qualified relatives other than parents.
Child Welfare Investigative Findings:
Provides for administrative appeals of when individuals are notified by DCFS of adverse investigative findings. More information is available at

If you are a party in a case docketed for appeal at the DAL, you may send documentary evidence that you want the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) to consider when making a decision. Be sure to include the DAL docket number on any correspondence.
The judge must receive your exhibits before the day of the hearing.
